You are living in the South East European (SEE) region which is as complex as it is diverse. And you can start with yourself building peace within and sharing it in your community and your country. Your own inner peace will influence this mix of cultures, religions, ethnicities and different languages, the region we call South East Europe.

Fellowship Objectives


  • To empower young leaders and youth workers to become change-makers

  • To bring young leaders , youth workers and activists from the SEE region together for future cooperation

  • To strengthen an active network of peace-builders in the region

  • To promote tools of peace building that can be applied to all ages, cultures, religions and professions

  • To provide the participants with the tools to inner peace and leadership skills through mindfulness, self-discipline, emotional intelligence and compassion

  • To explore the idea that self-development and inner peace as a core foundation of sustainable world peace

  • To grow together and become active citizens for building change from within in local communities


Program

The fellowship will include interactive activities, meditation & yoga sessions, lectures and discussions providing the participants with new skills for non-violent resistance, peace education, enhanced creativity and stress-management. Participants will have a chance to explore meditation as a practice which can cultivate skills to deal with challenges within peace-building and youth work, which makes this course different from others.


Meditations and lectures will be delivered by a Teaching Monk and meditation trainers. Please note that the teaching monk is not a religious figure but one of the mentors. This is a religion-free event and we welcome people with any religious background or without it to participate.

SEE Fellowship will take place in the hotel Ceptor in Andrevlje, which is inside Fruska Gora national park. The nearest village to the venue is Banostor. There are frequent buses running between Novi and Banostor.

The SEE Peace Fellowship covers:

  • Accommodation

  • Catering

  • Meditation sessions and lectures fee

  • Yoga Classes

The SEE Peace Fellowship DOES NOT Cover:

  • International transportation to Serbia

  • Local transportation within the country

  • Personal expenses

Eligibility


  • Nationals and residents of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Cyprus;

  • Completed 14 days of the online self-development program;. Note that in order to submit the application form, candidates do not need to have completed the full online self-development program.

  • Young leaders involved in their communities and who believe that our role in peace is crucial

  • Open-minded and positive young people who are searching for the right tools to cultivate inner peace and mindfulness in their daily lives

  • Good proficiency in written and spoken English;

  • Candidates should be fully self-supportive for the transportation to the venue.

Eligibility Deadline - 14 August, 2017, before 00.00GMT (last date to complete at least 14 days of the online Self-Development Program)


After completing 14 days of the online self-development program, the Peace Revolution selection committee will make an interview appointment based on your performance.

Frequently asked questions

1. Is there an age limit to apply for the fellowship?

Everyone is welcome to join the fellowship. We are looking for peace activists interested in self-development, who want to learn how to develop their own inner peace in order to engage more effectively in their peace work.

2. I originally come from the above mentioned countries, but I live in a different country now. Can I still apply?

You can still apply. Preference will be given to the residents of these countries, but other applications will be considered.

3.How do you select the participants?

The most important criterion for selection is the applicant’s completion of at least 14 days of the online self-development program.  Our target group is young activists, peace-builders and educators. We will try our best to select participants from as many countries as possible.
