Untangled

Untangled

By: Mirette Bahgat

A mind strangled in thousands of thoughts,

entangled in delusions,

wandering back and forth,

between past and future illusions

… A heart …

A heart  heavy with worries, scars,

and hurries across fleeting fantasies

and whims and a glimpse of what is beyond its reach.

A deception and distortion of reality

and a question of why humans are so full of obsessions..

aggressions and destruction…self-destruction..

... A question ...

Are we really free as we think we are? Or neo-slaves of a modern fancy world,

shining not as free stars in the galaxy ...

but rather like caged birds …

and the cage is our mind …

our heart  is so full yet so empty.

Now back to the question…is there a way out?

I can’t really tell …

but what I’m sure of is that there Is a way in…

in not out is where I need to be, to find my reality…

my awakening and embracing of the precious present,

a relief from all the mind games …

a center to retreat and recharge …

a point of inception ...

where beginnings meet endings,

where the exit is the entrance.

... Centers…

now I heard before about the center…

but What is the center?

where is the center?

anything can be a center,

work can be a center,

family a  center,

lover a center,

void can be a center …

anything can be a center but what is ,THE center?

I can give no answers, I only ask questions …

but I heard that in the center you can find all the answers you’re looking for ...

they say if you shut down all the noise of the world …

take a deep breath (breath sound) and close your eyes softly and gently ...

you’ll be able to reach that place …

well, it’s not really a place, it’s a space where you can be, just be …

you need not do anything or think of anything …

you just exist.

And mind you, when you exist you see the world as it is …

not as you’ve always been conditioned to see …

it’s like an inner light that shines brightly in your mind

and let you see…and by see I mean really SEE

So why don’t you try to be ...

try to free your spirit from the burdens of a twisted world

and a blurry sight …

well, eventually, you got to choose smart

between being enlightened or losing your mind.
