Porchhay started to practice meditation in 2012 when he had a chance to become a monk for 3 months in Cambodia. Since then he has been involved in many social works and peacebuilding programs such as Sarus exchange program which aims to build peace and friendship between Cambodian and Vietnamese youth, the Cities of peace fellowship, an exchange program between youth in Phnom Penh and Chicago. After graduating from International Studies Program from Royal University of Phnom Penh, Porchhay worked for the World Peace Initiative Foundation in Thailand as Regional coordinator and video editor. At the same time, he is also one of the active Peace Architects who has been conducting many meditation workshops wherever he goes. In 2016, he spent another one month being a monk in an international ordination program in Thailand in order to deepen his meditation practice. By the end of 2019, Porchhay graduated from Asian Peace Builders dual master’s degree scholarship from Ateneo de Manila University in Philippines, majoring in global politics and University for Peace in Costa Rica, majoring in environment, development and peace.
