It's the same principle that we apply with the PIPO concept. Freedom from desire means the mind that is clear from impurities. When your mind is clean and clear, you will discover your own inner peace from within. It starts with the contentment while meditating. That contentment leads to purity of the mind, which will subsequently gives inner clarity and thus inner peace.
